Star World is a pan-Asian entertainment channel owned by News International (who also own Fox, Sky, etc.).  It  features drama and comedy shows from the USA and UK, usually 18+ months after first transmission, but with a few programmes shown more quickly.   

 

The channel was previously available free of charge (distributed by satellite and then made available through the SMATV system in many apartment buildings), but since January 2005 Star World has been a pay channel on Now TV (channel 528). 

 

The channel started out as Star Plus in 1992.
